Eurostile Type Specimen Poster

A class project about typography and its uses. In class we were allowed to choose from a list of well known typefaces and then had to create a type specimen poster using that typeface. Each student had to research their specific typeface and come up with the best design solution that captured the utility of characters.

My typeface I chose was Eurostile, sometimes written as Eurostyle, designed by Aldo Novarese. It is a popular display type with a technical and functional appeal. The square shapes of the letter with the rounded corners are said to be reminiscent of old 1950s and 1960s television screens. It is a popular font among designers as well as science fiction novel and film artwork.
